Mobile Location Proxy (MPX)
The Messaging Proxy (MPX) is the focal point of the Mobile Arts combined location and messaging architecture, providing a single point of contact for applications (MPX clients).
The MPX allows for inclusion of location information in messages bound for applications and for mobile location on demand from the applications. In addition, the MPX supports the translation of end-user address information to anonymous addresses, allowing 3rd party applications to be invoked on demand by end-users whilst avoiding problems with privacy.
The MPX features include:
- One single messaging API for MPX clients regardless of access type used (SMS, WAP, USSD, MMS)
- Automatic inclusion of service requester location in messages (SMS, WAP, USSD, MMS) addressed to location enabled applications (MPX clients)
- Support for interworking with the following Mobile Arts or 3rd party legacy products:
- SMSC
- WAP-Gateway
- USSD-Gateway
- MMSC
- MLC
- OMA MLP based client interface supporting routing to/from location servers of standard MO, NI & MT location messages; emergency MT location messages and triggered location messages
- Distribution of MLP messages to local location server or remote middleware/loctaion server based on MSISDN or IMSI
- OMA IP-based location roaming fully supported.
- MPX client capacity license management and accouting
The Messaging Proxy is offered both as a stand-alone product and as an integral part of the Mobile Arts Advanced Mobile Location Centre product.
