Voice SMS (VSMS)
The Mobile Arts Voice SMS is an assynchronous messaging service that combines the non-intrusiveness and store-and-forward characteristics of SMS with the simplicity, speed and personal touch of a voice call. The addressing, recording and playback of messages is straight forward and fast, with notification to the message recipient of received messages being done via MT SMS delivery. Automatic message delivery attempt on new message arrival is also supported. Notification back to the voice message sender of successful and unsuccessful message delivery is also possible via MT SMS delivery.
The Voice SMS also hosts the Mobile Arts Voice Information application - a voice-based multi-cast messaging application that provides easy to use voice information services, with the information providers dynamically recording messages for playback on demand to listeners. This allows the provision of Operator or 3rd party content services i.e. football scores, as well as the ‘private community’ type of services. As an example of such a private community service, a children’s’ football team coach can use the Voice Information service for easy distribution of news to the entire football team (and to their parents). Both push and pull message broadcast is supported.
